Ashby-de-la-Zouch Lodge of MMM

No. 1783

Mark Master Mason's apron, Ashby-de-la-Zouch Lodge No. 1783

Warranted 29th April 1997 - Consecrated 29th April 1997.

The Mark degree is one of the oldest and most widely practised of the side degrees, governed in England by the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons. It develops the symbolism of the Craft further - focusing on the stonemason's personal "mark," carved into their work to identify it. The ceremony teaches lessons of integrity, honest labour, and the value of a good name.

Members of the Mark degree are known as Mark Master Masons, and meet in a Mark Lodge. It is a popular and enjoyable degree, known for its warm fellowship and accessible ritual.
